The Media has a huge influence on the thoughts of the people, and thus a huge impact on the result of elections. It can get people informed on certain issues, and leave them in the dark about others, what they report depends on who owns the company. Of course, different medias have different view points. Fox News pushes for a more conservative ideology while MSNBC pushes for a more Liberal agenda. Political parties organize the electoral college votes, choosing people to vote for them. Of course they are going to choose people who vote for their party. In a lot of cases, the Parties have to readjust their views to match with the changing society. for example, Many republicans are beginning to support Gay Marriage. When a party is slow to change, or to address an issue, an interest group forms and begins lobbying for that magic piece of legislation. A good example of this is the NRA, who formed in the early 20th century to protect the right to bear arms. They nominate republican candidates, fund campaigns, and rally for support for their agenda. speaking of money, you know what, I am not going to get into it. Maybe another time. I feel that the electoral college system ruins the idea of a majority vote, and should be taken out of the constitution in the UNIT 6 MASTERY PROJECT:
