Government: The essence of the People
Just many great people before me, including Ronald Regean, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, and many others, I am a republican. I want to see America become a country with a strong military to protect it's interests across the globe. I want to see America become a country that values the freedom of Religion, Freedom of speech, and the freedom to bare arms. I sided with the grand old GOP at 96%. I did however also agree with some of the policies set up by the left. I like the idea of a saftey net for our nations needy, but only for those who need it. I also like the idea of having national parks paid for and protected by the federal government, becuase it is our responsibility to protect the natural balance of the Earth. I do not however like the lefts idea of legalizing marijuana, legalizing abortion, or legalizing homesexual marriage. This score is not suprising considering how political demographics work. I am a white (Republican), male(Repubilcan) , who works a mininimum wage blue collar job on weekends (democrat) while going to school during the week (Republican). I am also very religous (republican). I counted 4 points to the red, and 1 point to the blue, So of course I would be a republican. I am very proud of this score, and could not be happier. Inside the right wing chain of political idols, I side closest with Marco Rubio, on the bottom left of the Right area. Just for fun, I tried to compare myself to Barack Obama. I disagreed with him on 70% of the issues that are currently heating up between him and the new GOP dominated congress. I did however agree with hm on some enviromental issues, except fot the building of the keystone pipeline. We need that thing built.

Just days into the start of the 114th congress, the House moved to prevent certain provisions in OBAMACARE from being passed. Provisions that could possibly hurt the job market. Congress wished to pass a bill that would raise the 30 hour minimum of a full time worker to 40. Critics claim defining full time workers as those working at least 30 hours a week is pressuring firms to save money by cutting the workers hours below that. The president threatened to veto the bill no matter what. Congress passed the bill anyway.
It seems that all during the time of the 113th congress, Democrats slammed Republicans for stopping them at every turn, but current events are showing the country that they are no better. It seems that through checks and balances, the two parties are entering into an all out brawl that will last a LONG time. This is not just a political issue anymore. This is the clashing of two different cultures living in the same country. James Madison set up a system in which factions would compete for control and argue in a diplomatic way through a system of checks and balances. This is exactly what we are seeing here. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/01/08/house-approves-obamacare-bill-despite-veto-threat/ |
